Mersey Retail Park Speke John O'Groats to Lands End BikeAthon - Raising funds The British Heart Foundation.

The hottest day of the year to date greeted the tri-4-life team for another John O'Groats to Lands End BikeAthon.

The factor thirty five sun screen and dark shades brought a Mediterranean feel to the Mersey Retail Park. The Liverpool Heartbeat sound wagon added that carnival atmosphere to the whole event. The banners, balloons and top tunes helped the miles slip by in a disco on wheels kind of way.

The arrival of world celebrity masks made interesting cycling. Pavaroti, Cher, John Major, Ronald Regan, Laurel & Hardy and Snow White and the seven dwarfs were just a few to put the miles in around the half way point.

As the day wore on the sun dipped from sight behind Borders Book Store bringing a welcome shade for the finish of the ride. After eight hours in the saddle the team finally completed the 860 mile trip.

The team would like to thank Ken Fretwell from the BHF for arranging the event, Robin Baynes from Liverpool Heartbeat for the road show support, and refreshments, Dominic Morris as MC and DJ. The volunteers, wives, girlfriends, partners and children from all quarters for their help in collecting for this great event.

tri-4-life fundraising evening with the Rotary Club

In the first of our fundraising cabaret nights the West Derby Rotary Club played host to the tri-4-life team, their family and friends in a heartwarming evening of entertainment.

Music and comedy from an array of performers starting way back with jazz 'n' swing. The evening relaxed with some classic crooning and soul music before the side splitting laughter of the comedy act had us on the edge of our seats ready for the Rock 'n' Roll finale. There was a short intermission for the much supported raffle and a word of thanks from the Event Director and Team Manager. The tri-4-life team would like to thank the Rotary Club and all those in attendance for their continued support with their challenge.
