June 16th - Liverpool Heartbeat supports the tri-4-life team at the Aintree Show with an eye-catching display of stalls and fundraising ideas. The tombola made a great backdrop to the licra clad team on their awarness raising bikeAthon, promoting the British Heart Foundation. The banners on display encompased the Liverpool sponsorship support with our Hearts as Big a City theme. The FA cup was on display just behind the stocks of the tri-4-life Sponge 'n' Splash. In short a great day was had by all, in bringing a smile to every face we had the pleasure to meet, as well a raising funds towards the challenge.

June 9th - Congratulations to our youngest team member Ryan Hanlon on making the headlines at Merseytri regional mini tri held at the Oval Sports Centre Wirral. Well done also to Alan and the Kirkham family for another great organised event. In a special presentation at the end of the day Liz Kirkham was presented with British Triathlon Association Club Mark award. This again is a great tribute to the hard work Alan and Liz have given to all at Merseytri.

June 3rd - Pauline.VAN-GREUNINGEN-SMITH makes contact with Mayor of Brussels Freddy Thielemans. The tri-4-life team take the city by storm at the Lord Mayors Parade in Liverpool. Robin & Bren Baynes meet with the Mayor at the town hall to discuss a possible link with Brussels.

May 27th - For the second year running Upton Cricket Club invite the tri-4-life team to their annual sportsman's dinner fundraiser. Following a fantastic evening of food, drinks and entertainment from football legend Frank Worthington and comedian Lester Crabtree, Those in attendance gave generously in support of the raffle and auction and still by the end of the night managed to dig even deeper in support of the tri-4-life event. May 20th - Seven tri-4-life team members completed the world's toughest Ironman triathlon in the scorching temperatures of Lanzarote. Dave, Sean, Liam, Chris, Bryan, Paul and Tim all finished within the time allowed. Thanks to all the team members, trainers and coaches for helping with the tough winter training required for such an event. A special thanks to Ian, Paul, Steve, Alex and Jan and the 'roadie' crew for willing us all across the finish line.

May 13th - Full team meeting at the Holiday Inn Liverpool. First meeting of the complete team with a special welcome to those working hard behind the scenes of the tri-4-life event.

May 6th - Fundraising Bikeathon at Cheshire Oaks raised £575.00. A big thanks to all those who turned up to help out on a cold, windy, wet day. Thanks to Alan and Fiona for braving the elements unhindered until the end.

April 29th - As the spring beckons the team begins their Open water swim training at the Albert Dock. Liam and Chris head back to the long tough climbs of the lakes where disaster strikes for a second time. As Liam limps home on his steel rims Chris completes the lakeland challenge.

April 22nd - Liam, Bill and Robin Meet with Neil Petterson and John Moore from the Capital of Culture Team in Liverpool. Culture team pledge their support for a link with Brussels. Organisation Meeting at Gressford progresses the tri-4-life plans..

April 15th - As Liam increases intensity of back to back workouts at 11,000 mtrs. Chris and Bryan head for the toughest route in Lake District cycling. 180 Kl in distance with 8,000 meters of climbing. They are forced to pull out at Santon Bridge 20 Kl from the finish due to poor weather, loss f light and physical fatigue.

April 8th - Training intensity increases as Chris and Bryan head to the Brecon Beacons for a 300km Audax and Liam heads to Utah USA for some altitude training.

April 1st - Magic Night at the Village Inn Oakfield Road Liverpool raises £700.00 towards tri-4-life. Thanks to Robin Baynes of Liverpool Heartbeat, the Rotary Club of West Derby and Liverpool Swimming Club for their support. A truly 'MAGIC' night crooned along by top local entertainer Bernie Wenton.

March 25th - In a premier event Merseytri and the tri-4-life team host the Legends Speed Demon Duathlon in Crewe Cheshire. The Lanzarote Ironman team members embark on a sequence of physiological tests at Liverpool University.

March 18th - Allan Baynes, Chris Brannan and Vic Maher attend a Meeting with Liverpool Football Club at Anfield. Liverpool pledge to sponsor the tri-4-life event and support us with a roadshow venue. The tri-4-life team supports the Liverpool Half Marathon organisation by manning a drinks station.

March 11th - In a memorable evening of old time swing, the 'Big Band Night' with Terry Perry and the BIG EASY band proved to be a great success. Thanks to Ken Oram and the committee of the old Parkonians Rugby Club and Andrea Davies for making the evening such a success.Liverpool Football Club Endorses tri-4-life European Challenge 2006.

March 4th - Final preparations underway for The Big Band Night being organised by Andrea Davies and Ken Oram at The Parkonians Rugby Club, Oxton. First print run of the tri-4-life leaflet - thanks to Keith Rigby. Whilst many team members may be found on the snow driven climbs of North Wales, Bryan Cullen was competing in the Great West half marathon. tri-4-life banner makes its first appearance at the Millennium Stadium Cardiff thanks to Alan, Chris and Vic.

February 25th - As training pace increases the team experiences a number of injury setbacks. Rob Beaver has been laid up with a slipped disc, Ray Hanlon is suffering with a shoulder injury, Liam with a damaged elbow, Sean and Bill with knee problems, and many of the team suffering with the usual seasonal colds and flu.

February 18th - Final version of promotional DVD produced by Paul Fewtrell - the team would like to thank him for his commitment and time. We now have an excellent tool to promote our event. Alan Baines, Chris Brannan and Vic Maher meet with Liverpool Football Club to discuss possible support and sponsorship.

February 11th - Team organization meeting at the Plough in Gressford to discuss progress to date. Karl Wallbank joins the tri-4-life effort with his 'Fly for Life' event, attempting to match the tri-4-life event distance flying a hangglider. Funds raised will be shared equally between Karl's nominated charity the children's foundation 'The Toy Library' and tri-4-life. We wish him every success. Ray Hanlon and Kieren Hanlon register to join Rob Beaver for The Longest Day Triathlon in July.

February 4th - tri-4-life Race Night at Trials Hotel, Liverpool raises £2300.00 for the tri-4-life fund. Huge thanks to Robin and Brenda Baines of Liverpool Heartbeat for organising this event. Thanks go to John Mac. for an excellent job as compere, the staff at Trials and to everyone who dug deep to support the event. Dave Parry presents a cheque to Barnardo's Charity via the tri-4-life 'Million Reasons To Tri' campaign. Congratulations go to Dave and his team for a successful Channel swim attempt.

January 28th - David Lloyd Speke bikeathon raises £207.00 for the tri-4-life fund - well done to Rob Beaver for organising a great day.

January 21st - Confirmation of team entries received for Asics sponsored events. Alan Kirkham confirms entry into Ironman Austria.

January 14th - tri-4-life feature in Runners World Magazine Bike trials started at Liverpool Hope University, Contact made with Brussels Triathlon Club to start planning 2006.

January 7th - Team organisation meeting at the Plough in Gressford, to discuss plans for 2005. Winter training starts the build up ready for the new season. New venue confirmed for the Speed Demon Duathlon, this will now take place at Legends Health & Leisure Club in Crewe.

2004

December 31st - tri-4-life team enter Ironman Lanzarote. Chris, Bryan, Sean, Dave, Tim, Paul & Liam. Progress meeting with Alan Baynes and Vic Maher to discuss plans for schools involvement and national links. Meeting with John McDonald from HSBC Bank to discuss possible sponsorship and support.

December 24th - Ten tri-4-life team members joined forty other 'Dippers' from the City of Liverpool swimming club to take part in the annual Boxing Day Dip, raising funds for Liverpool Heartbeat. This years fundraising was intended to support of the tri-4-life Challenge. In view of the tragic events unfolding from the Asian Tsunami disaster it was agreed to forward all funds from this event to the disaster appeal. The team would like thank Robin Baynes, Jimmy Tindsley, Dave Parry and all participants in the swim for their support. The event was well attended. Johnny Mac's first tri-4-life performance brought a Christmas carnival atmosphere to the Albert Dock. Olympic bronze medal winner Steve Parry presented a cheque for £5000.00 to the tri-4-life event director Liam Hanlon prior to debut dip. BBC North West were also in attendance recording the proceeding to be screened on the 1630hrs news broadcast.

December 17th - Update with Paul Crone from Granada Reports. Plans to do follow up report for 2005. Second edition of promotional DVD prepared by Chris Fewtrell and Event Info Leaflet updated by Brian at Vivid ready for 2005 PR events.

December 10th - David Graham Natural High School Tour continues to impress with Robin Baynes working closely with local organisations to secure David's tri-4-life involvement. Local MP Claire Curtis Thomas pledges future support.

December 3rd - Progress meeting with Dave Graham, Alan Baynes and Robin Baynes. Dave Graham pledges to perform roadshow at all venues including Brussels. Paul Platt is awarded Athlete of the year for his outstanding performance in Ironman Austria by the Maverick Crazy Gang Curry Club. tri-4-life support Asics sponsored Liverpool Santa Dash. Liverpool Legend Kenny Daglish endorses tri-4-life event with a photo with Event Director Liam Hanlon.

November 26th - Team training day at Sefton Park Liverpool with top veteran runner and coach Joe Parkinson. Team discusses plans for the 2005 season. Johnny 'The Maverick' Mac pledges his roadshow support for 2006. Meeting with Ray Dodd to discuss role as Transport Coordinator.

November 19th - tri-4-life support the Children in need Appeal with the Maverick Crazy Gang in their world record 24Hr none stop cycle attempt at Total Fitness in Prenton. The team would also like to welcome Gareth, Mr 'G' who will join the support team as physio and motivator. Congratulations to Alan Kirkham on achieving the British Triathlon Association Volunteer of the Year Award.

November 12th - tri-4-life presentation/fundraising evening at the Grange Country Club Thornton Hough with Guest speaker Channel swimmer Dave Parry. Presentation of Cheque to Liverpool Heartbeat for Across Mersey Swim. Event Director Liam Hanlon thanked the team for their effort during the past season which Rob Beaver summed up during his after dinner speech and Oad

November 5th - The tri-4-life team support the Variety Club of Great Britain fundraising evening at the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool. The Billy Furry night was packed with performances from 50's and 60's tribute artists, Guest speakers, fundraising raffle and Billy Furry memorabilia auction. The team would like to thank Lynne Staunton for the invite to be part of a fantastic evening.

October 29th - Promotional work is continuing with the updating of all material and DVD. Meeting planned with Paul Fewtrell.

October 22nd - Progress meeting arranged to discuss the tri-4-life 'Natural High' Road Show route, venues and accommodation. Presentation evening confirmed for November 12th with Channel Swimmer Dave Parry as guest speaker.

October 15th - tri-4-life team get together for a John O'Groats to Lands End Fundraising Day at The Forum Shopping Centre in Chester in aid of Liverpool Heartbeat and the British Heart Foundation.

October 8th - Ten team members attend the L1310K Exhibition, based at the Liverpool City Exchange Centre, to promote the tri-4-life event. Full team turnout for Asics sponsored Ten Kilometer and Half Marathon events. Some great results in a strong team event.

October 1st - Daily Post feature headline for tri-4-life charity challenge in the build up to next weekends L1310K Exhibition and road race.

September 24th - Kieren completes the Three Peaks Challenge in good form. Tim Barrett breaks 230 at the Bala Triathlon. Sponsorship confirmation has been received from Zoggs to promote their Swim 4 Fitness Program

September 17th - Bill, Sean, Liam & Ryan complete the 130K North Dales Audax. Paul Platt records a PB in the Nottingham Half Marathon. Ian Simnor breaks 230 in the Derby Triathlon and Well done to Alan Baynes and Chris Brannan on completing the ASICS Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon on Sunday 19th September raising over £300 towards tri-4-life.

September 10th - Robin and Liam attended a number of meetings with representatives from the International Rotary Club Contact Union, with representatives from Berlin, Rimini and Vichy. Thank you to Robin Baynes and Bill Sergeant for the opportunity to discuss the tri-4-life Challenge with members of the European community.

September 3rd - Eleven team members complete the Great Run Liverpool Triathlon. A fantastic team event with publicity opportunities with local press and media, The British Triathlon Association and the BBC. At the Team Meeting at the Albert Dock we discussed our plans for the next phase of the challenge and the team commits to the Asics Sponsorship Contract

August - 27th - Tim, Bryan, Liam & Ray Join Alan Rothwell and the Vivid team for the end of summer race series. The five Mile multi terrain races are planed for Royden Park, Hoylake Sands & Arrow Park. A good speed finish session to end the season.

August - 20th - tri-4-life supporter Steve Parry wins Olympic Bronze Medal in Athens. Thirteen team members complete the Across Mersey Swim. This was our second open water swim event in preparation for the Channel attempt in 2006. The fundraising this year will go towards the tri-4-life event. Thanks to Robin Baynes, Jim Tinsley, Bob Jones and all the safety crewe for helping make this event a great success.

August 13th - tri-4-life team get together for a John O'Groats to Lands End Fundraising Day at Mersey Retail Park Speke in aid of Liverpool Heartbeat and the British Heart Foundation.

August 6th - Nick Robinson makes contact with Zoggs to discuss possible sponsorship.

July 30th - The Daily Post reports on the tri-4-life event as part of our preparation for the upcoming Across Mersey Swim with The City of Liverpool Long Distance Swimming Club in memory of Kenny 'Dipper' O'Toole.

July 23rd - This weekend a number of the team take time out for camping and light training at Shell Island Harlech. Congratulations to Bryan Culllen who completes the Longest Day Triathlon in Wolverhampton in a back to back Ironman double.

July 16th - Congratulations to Rob Beaver, Ian Simnor, Bill Hanlon and Ray Hanlon who achieved PB's at the Crewe & Nantwhich Triathlon

July 9th - After months of preparation nine members of the tri-4-life team head of to Ironman Austria. Three members Alan, Ian and Nick formed the press party and Bryan, Dave, Sean, Paul, Chris and Liam complete the event in fine form. The team met up with the Asics Austria team in a hand of friendship promotion. The Dipper Mini Bus was a valuable asset to the team on show in all major routes from Liverpool to Klagenfurt. Thanks to Liverpool Heartbeat for their generous donation of the mini bus for this event.

July 2nd - Well done to Alan Kirkham and his trusted team on the success of the Merseytri Aquathlon held at the Oval Sports Centre Bebington. Eleven tri-4-life team members competed in Ivan Percival Open Water Championships at the Albert Dock Liverpool. This was our first open water swim event in preparation for the Channel attempt in 2006. There were many lessons learned under the watchful eye of our Channel Swimming coach Jim Tinsley. Thanks to Dave Parry and his team for arranging it all. Some great news following the event with Commonwealth Silver Medalist Steve Parry endorsing tri-4-life with a pledge to do some fundraising. The Liverpool Echo report the tri-4-Challenge as a local life feature.

June 25th - Meeting with Ken Fretwell from the British Heart Foundation to discuss events and venues for forthcoming fundraising events

June 18th - Two evenings of fundraising saw the tri-4-life team, their wives, partners and children promote our event at Greens Health and Fitness Club in Liverpool. A big thank you to all who turned up to take part, the management and staff at Greens for making us so welcome and to all those members who gave generously during our John O'Groats to Lands End dash.

June 11th - A fundraising day at The Village Hotel Bromborough involved the tri-4-life team riding from John O'Groats to Lands End as part of a fun filled day raising awareness of our event of fundraising for the Stick 'n' Step charity appeal. A celebrity football match between a whole host of local soap stars from Coronation Street and Holby City was followed by a charity auction attended by celebrities from television, media and sport. In all the event raised over eleven thousand pounds. Our thanks go to Rob Palmer and Barbara Poole for inviting us to take part to all the team for turning up and to everyone who gave so generously.

June 4th - At a meeting at the Devonshire Hotel Fairfield it was agreed that Allan Baines would oversee the logistics and implementation of the tri-4-life Natural High Roadshow. The tri-4-life team plans to meet with David Graham in November to agree the content of the roadshow.

May 28th - Live radio interview with Roger Philips on Radio Merseyside and a recorded interview with Alan Jackson Collect Cheque from Rotary Club. Well done to Tim Barret and all team members who attended the fundraising promotional evening on Friday 28th May at Upton Cricket Club. This sportsman's dinner with Australian cricketer Rodney Marsh as guest speaker was a great success.

May 21st - Five Members of the tri-4-life team participate in a number of environmental aclimatisation tests at Liverpool John Moores University. Thanks to David Low and his team for arranging the sessions. Perfect preparation for Ironman Austria.

May 14th - tri-4-life team attend the Radio City L1310K race launch event at the Radisson Hotel in Liverpool. Thanks to Alan Rothwell and Radio City for bringing together the Arch Bishop Blanche School Africa appeal, RNLI, Weston Spirit and tri-4-life in an eye catching tour of Liverpool Landmarks. tri-4-life team promotional photo with the 'DIPPER' minibus and West Derby Rotary Club at the Albert Dock Liverpool. May 7th - Meeting with Jim Donaldson from the Variety Club of Great Britain to discuss forthcoming fundraising events.

April 30th - The new Stick 'n' Step Center officially opens at St Johns Church Hall in Bebington. Thanks to Barbara Poole and Rob Palmer for the endorsement of Local football ace Steve Macmanaman in the re- presentation of the original Team Taig 'STEAM' room plaque to the new Stick'n'Step center on behalf of the tri-4-life European Challenge 2006 team.

March 19th - Rotary Club of West Derby fundraising evening held at Fairfield Police Club on Wednesday 17th was a great success. David Graham gives his support to the event and offers join the tri-4-life roadshow with his drug awarness campaign.
